The first is an active group in the Fox Valley called the Distributed Hacker/Maker Network or DHMN. DHMN has been progressing nicely in the past year. DHMN has two scheduled make sessions, a social lunch, and a business meeting every month. They have also worked on and passed bylaws and are well on their way to having a group that will one day have its own Makerspace.
MakeBit is a pet project of mine with a goal of being a makerspace/hackerspace in Fond du Lac, WI. MakeBit still has a long way to becoming a sustainable group, but I believe in the maker movement, and have high hopes for what MakeBit can become.
If you are in the Fox Valley or Fond du Lac, please connect up with your local group and become a maker today! If you aren't from the area check out Hackerspaces.org and find a hackerspace near you!
